2009 STIMULUS PACKAGE

As part of the 2009 Stimulus package passed by the president and congress, homeowners can now take advantage of tax credits for certain plumbing related improvements. Rinnai tankless water heaters and A.O. Smith Vertex gas condensing tank style heaters qualify for a 30% tax credit on LABOR AND MATERIAL for installation costs. The tax credit is worth up to $1500. As an example, if a homeowner has a tankless heater installed at a cost of $2500 in 2009 or 2010, then they would be able to claim a tax credit of $750. The tax credit would then bring the cost of the installation and heater down to $1750, making it much more attractive to consumers financially.
